Financial Literacy & Homebuyer Preparation (FLHP) Instructor

About the Role 

Building Shalom’s Instructor will work with the Executive Director, FLHP

Director, other Instructors and the Care Team to apply existing FLHP

initiatives for the benefit of program participants. The Instructor will have

regular and direct interaction with program participants.


The Instructor will teach Financial Literacy and Homebuyer Preparation

workshops within either the intensive segment of the year or the traditional 12

month program duration.


The Instructor position is a part-time contracted position. The Instructor will

be compensated for working up to 3 in office working hours per week.

Qualifications 

The Instructor has the following responsibilities:


A. Teach FLHP Workshops- The Instructor will be responsible for creating an

interactive, welcoming, engaging, and top-notch learning environment for

the FLHP program.

1. To teach the full 12 month traditional homeownership curriculum or

the classes associated with intensive workshops.

2. Maintain and file attendance records accordingly.

3. Make all preparations needed before workshops.

4. Grade participants monthly budget assignments.

B. Participant Success- The Instructor will be

1. Coordinate with FLHP team to maintain updated digital and hard

copy participant attendance records.

2. Carry out calls or in office time for participant assistance (budgeting,

classroom assignments or technology assistance).

3. Assist with planning, communicating essential program events to

your cohort.


C. Program Assimilation Administrative Assistance - The Instructor will

assist with the logistics and communication related to participants program

entry and subsequent phases of FLHP.

D. Maintain Participant Engagement - The Instructor will assist with the

logistics and communication related to participants program entry and

subsequent phases of FLHP.


1. Engage with participants weekly to create and maintain an

engaged cohort (class) of participants on Building Shalom digital

platforms.


E. Serves as an ambassador for Building Shalom to the local community

at-large

F. Prays for Building Shalom.

G. Encourages and supports all Building Shalom employees in the

execution of their assigned duties.


Reporting

The Instructor position is a part-time contracted position that reports to the

Executive Director.
