About the Role
The Ops Lead owns and coordinates the day-to-day operations of Ripe for Revival. This includes, but is not limited to, managing and developing other team members and processes, along with scheduling, fleet and equipment oversight, inventory management, purchasing, budgeting, and reporting. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to Ripe for Revival’s mission of food access and community impact.

Team Leadership & Staffing
Hire, train, and supervise operations support and managers
Maintain up-to-date personnel and compliance documentation for team members
Develop, rollout, and maintain SOPs for core team functions
Ensure staff completion of pre-op and post-op vehicle checklists and compliance with food handling and safety procedures (through Ops Manager)
Oversee driver accountability, including maintaining a clean and well-organized bus/trailer prior to event departure (through OpsManager)
Operations & Logistics
Develop and manage the master schedule for all Mobile Market and Culinary Trailer events, coordinating staff, routes, and site logistics (through Ops Manager)
Oversee weekly Fuelman (Driver Fleet) payments, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation
Manage vehicle registration, inspections, and insurance, ensuring all fleet vehicles remain legally and safely operable
Supervise the ongoing maintenance and readiness of all Mobile Market vehicles, trailers, and generators—including fueling, cleaning, and charging protocols
Inventory & Procurement
Oversee the ordering of produce, dairy, proteins, and dry goods for all nonprofit programs including Mobile Markets, food distributions, educational and fundraising events
Coordinate with the Community Impact Coordinator to ensure accurate inventory tracking, including items received, used, donated, or expired
Manage the organization and cleanliness of warehouse storage, ensuring compliance with food safety and operational standards (coolers, freezers, racking, etc.)
Monitor shelf life of perishable goods and coordinate donation of excess produce to local partner organizations
Budget & Purchasing
Manage annual and event-specific budgets for all nonprofit programs, ensuring proper allocation and stewardship of funds
Manage financial traction KPIs for weekly accountability meetings
Approve and oversee purchases related to Mobile Market operations (e.g., maintenance services, shopping bags, POS devices, money boxes, etc.)
Track spending trends and make data-informed recommendations to improve cost efficiency
Market Operations Support
Step in as a Mobile Market operator as needed, including driving the vehicle, setting up displays, and managing on-site logistics
Safely transport goods to and from events, adhering to all traffic laws and DOT safety practices
Build and maintain relationships with market hosts, community partners, and local shoppers
Provide real-time problem-solving at events, including weather disruptions, power/equipment issues, or inventory gaps
Cross-Department & Strategic Support
Collaborate with the President of Ripe Inc. and Executive Director of Ripe for Revival on new Mobile Market additions, vendor selection, and upfits
Participate in partnership meetings, and events to represent the operational side of Ripe for Revival’s mission
Support broader community engagement and educational initiatives with logistical coordination and leadership presence
Growth Initiatives
Understand that this job will grow quickly and will also own operational oversight for future programs under the Ripe for Revival umbrella.
