Larema Launches New Beverage Company

TWIN COUNTY MEDIA

Larema Coffee House recently announced the launch of Larema Beverage Co. The announcement revealed that Ben Pollard would be Head Brewer of Larema Beverage Co. and they will be opening a brewery and taproom in downtown Rocky Mount at 131 SE Main St, around the corner from the coffee house. The brewery and taproom is expected to open in the next few months once renovations are completed.

While the full brewery and taproom is not yet open, Larema Coffee is currently serving Larema Beverage Co. beers in the meantime. They offer three beers on tap with the rotation changing every week or two.

They brew their beer on equipment at the Rocky Mount Mills. Most of their beer is currently being sold on tap in the coffee house where guests can enjoy the Larema environment. By selling their beer on tap they aim to raise the funds necessary for the renovation and opening of the brewery and taproom.

Last Friday night, Larema hosted a meet and greet and beer tasting with Ben, and guests were able to sample three beers: Friend—a pilsner lager,  Clandestine—a Hazy IPA, and Sun Revival—a saison.

Ben began his brewing career in 2018 at Koi Pond at the Rocky Mount Mills. He then worked at other craft breweries before becoming Head Brewer at Larema.

At the meet and greet, Ben also described the brewing process, what makes each brew unique, and what ingredients are used. He also had samples of hops and other ingredients used in the beer-making process.

beers.

Once the brewery and taproom opens, Larema Beverage Co. aims to feature around 50 different beers on rotation throughout the year.

In addition to Larema announcing Larema Beverage Co., they also announced they would be opening a full-scale coffee house in Wilson this fall. This will replace the existing Wilson location that meets in the Gig East co-working space downtown. The new location will be at 111 Tarboro St. in Wilson.

Larema will celebrate their 4th Anniversary Block Party on Saturday, September 16th in downtown Rocky Mount. The event will feature live music, food trucks, a DJ Dance party, local artists and vendors. Larema Beer will also be on tap, which means it will be a great opportunity to try some of their latest brews.

Larema is open Sunday 9 a.m.–4 p.m., Monday through Wednesday 7:30–430, and 7:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Visit their website or follow them on Facebook or Instagram for more information. Follow Larema Beverage on Instagram to see their latest news and beer selection
