This fall, Barley and Burger, one of Rocky Mount’s favorite dining destinations, will be moving to a new home at the Gateway Centre. Nestled in the heart of our vibrant town, the restaurant has been celebrated not just for its craft burgers, but for creating a unique experience where families, great food, and exceptional service come together in the most delicious way.

Our journey with Barley and Burger began with a simple idea: to create a space that was more than a traditional place to eat. We wanted to spark connection, to offer an atmosphere where families, friends, and even strangers could bond over good food and great conversation. To us, burgers weren’t just meals—they were canvases. That’s why each burger on our menu is named after iconic films. We hope that by serving the “Rocky Balboa” or “Marty McFly” burger, we bring a conversation piece to the table, giving people a reason to talk, to share stories, and maybe even reminisce about their favorite cinematic moments.

When we first opened our doors, we couldn’t have imagined the kind of love and support we’d receive from the Rocky Mount community. Our mission of combining the warm hospitality of Southern tradition with unforgettable food resonated deeply, and as our restaurant grew, so did our commitment to being part of this town’s heartbeat. Rocky Mount may be small, but its character is immense, with a rich history and deep community pride. We’re honored to contribute to that tapestry.

As we prepare to relocate, we are thrilled to bring Barley and Burger into a fresh, new space while keeping the core values and experience that have made us what we are today. The decision to move wasn’t just about needing more room or updating our look—it was about embracing growth, evolution, and the chance to enhance our connection with our community.

In our new location, we’re thrilled to introduce several features that we haven’t offered before. A full bar will now be available, offering craft cocktails and local brews. We’re extending our operating hours and adding ample outdoor seating, where we’ll host live music events, showcasing local talent and making Barley and Burger a vibrant hub of activity. And of course, there’s more to come as we settle into this new chapter.

At Barley and Burger, we see the dining table as a stage—where food becomes a catalyst for creativity, storytelling, and connection. Rocky Mount is a town with a rich spirit, and we’re inspired by that spirit every day.

As we open the doors to this next chapter, we remain dedicated to keeping the magic of Barley and Burger alive—our craft burgers, our movie-inspired names, and most of all, the conversations that make dining here more than just another meal.

We’re not just serving burgers; we’re serving stories. And we can’t wait for you to come share yours with us at our new location this fall.
