A Weekend of Inclusion, Community & Honor in Rocky Mount

This weekend, Rocky Mount will host two events that highlight the importance of bringing people together, supporting one another, and recognizing those who make a difference in our community.

On Saturday, November 7, Rocky Mount Mills will welcome families for the 4th Annual A Day at The Mills, a free, sensory-friendly event celebrating exceptional children and their families. Presented by Barnhill Contracting Company, the event creates an inclusive environment where children of all abilities can participate, explore, and enjoy experiences together.

For families with children who have different abilities or sensory needs, finding welcoming activities can make a meaningful difference. A Day at The Mills helps create those opportunities while connecting families with community organizations and one another.

Throughout the morning, attendees can enjoy hands-on activities, interactive stations, art, music, and more. Beyond the activities, the event demonstrates how local businesses and organizations can come together to make our community more accessible and inclusive for everyone.

A Day at The Mills takes place Saturday, November 7, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rocky Mount Mills. The event is free and open to all, with registration encouraged but not required.

Also taking place this weekend is the 2026 Ride of Honor, bringing together veterans, motorcycle enthusiasts, and community members for a two-day celebration of service and sacrifice.

As Veterans Day approaches, the event provides an opportunity to recognize the men and women who have served our country while reminding them that their contributions continue to be valued by the community.

The weekend begins Friday, November 6, at NC Beer Factory with a community gathering and Quilt of Valor Ceremony. On Saturday, participants will meet at Flying Iron Harley-Davidson for a Veterans Ceremony before departing on the Ride of Honor.

More than just a motorcycle ride, the event is an opportunity for residents, businesses, and organizations to come together in appreciation of our local veterans and their families.

Saturday's registration begins at 10:00 AM, with the ride departing at 12:00 PM. Veterans ride free, and community members are encouraged to attend and show their support.

While these events serve different purposes, both reflect the importance of community involvement and the impact that comes from showing up for one another.

Whether you're supporting local families or honoring our veterans, this weekend offers two meaningful opportunities to get involved and make a difference in the Twin Counties.
