Freedom Industries Expansion Continues Economic Momentum Across Nash County

Economic momentum continues to build across Nash County, and the latest example is coming to Nashville.

Freedom Industries is planning a $6.5 million expansion that is expected to bring new jobs and continued manufacturing growth to the region. A major step forward for the project recently came when the Town of Nashville voted to extend sewer service to the company’s planned expansion site, helping clear an important hurdle for development. The sewer infrastructure project was made possible thanks to the support from the NC Department of Commerce Industrial Development Fund.

The expansion reflects a larger trend happening across Eastern North Carolina as communities continue investing in infrastructure, industry, and long-term economic development. In this case, the project is the result of collaboration between Nash County, the Town of Nashville, and the City of Rocky Mount, all working together to support the growth of an existing local industry.

According to agreement documents presented to local leaders, Freedom Industries plans to expand operations at its facility on East Old Spring Hope Road. While Rocky Mount already provides water service to the area, Nashville agreed to extend sewer access to help support the project and future growth.

Founded in 1977, Freedom Industries specializes in industrial products and services, including material handling systems, industrial equipment, and manufacturing solutions for a variety of industries. Through its continued growth, the company has established itself as part of the manufacturing backbone that continues to drive economic activity throughout the region.

What makes this announcement especially notable is what it represents beyond a single expansion project. Manufacturing continues to play a major role in the economic future of Nash County and the surrounding area, bringing investment, jobs, and infrastructure improvements that can benefit the broader community.

The project also highlights how local governments are increasingly working together to support business development. The agreement between Nash County, Nashville, and Rocky Mount outlines a shared effort to provide the infrastructure needed to keep economic opportunities moving forward.

As more companies continue looking toward Eastern North Carolina for expansion opportunities, projects like this reinforce the idea that the Twin Counties region is continuing to position itself for long-term growth.

For residents, that growth means more than headlines. It can lead to increased job opportunities, stronger local investment, and continued momentum for the businesses and industries helping shape the future of Nash County.

And with projects like Freedom Industries’ expansion now moving closer to reality, it’s clear that the region’s economic momentum is continuing to build.
