This massive effort ensures thousands of households have access to warm, nourishing meals during the holidays. How to Help: Volunteers will be needed to help pack food boxes for community-wide distribution. 🛏️ Sleep in Heavenly Peace (Rocky Mount Chapter) – Operation Sleigh Bells

When: Saturday, December 13, 2025What: Sleep in Heavenly Peace is on a mission to make sure no child sleeps on the floor. During Operation Sleigh Bells, volunteers help build and deliver beds and bedding to children and families in need across the area—bringing comfort, dignity, and better rest to local kids this Christmas season. How to Help: Volunteer on build day or donate new twin bedding items such as sheets, pillows, comforters, and blankets. More Info: shpbeds.org


🧥 Salvation Army – Red Kettle Campaign & Clothing Drives

When: Late November through December 24, 2025What: The iconic red kettles are back across the Twin Counties, collecting donations for families in need. In addition to financial gifts, the Salvation Army collects winter coats, clothing, and holiday items for children and adults. 🧣 Edgecombe County Public Schools Winter Coat Drive

When: Through January 15, 2026What: ECPS is collecting new and gently used winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarves to ensure students stay warm through the coldest months. How to Help: Drop donations at:

🍽️ Meals on Wheels – Rocky Mount & Nash County

When: Year-round (extra volunteers needed during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s)What: Meals on Wheels provides nutritious meals and friendly check-ins to homebound seniors. During the holidays, the need for drivers and supporters increases significantly. How to Help: Sign up to deliver meals (typically takes about an hour) or donate to help keep the program running. ❤️ A Touch of the Father’s Love Ministry – Nash County

When: Year-round (call ahead for holiday-specific programs)What: This ministry serves families through food pantry support and basic-needs assistance. 🛒 The REACH Center – Pantry & Basic-Needs Donations
