Oysters, Live Music & a Fall Night Out: Rocky Mount’s Annual Oyster Roast Returns

There’s something about fall evenings, good food and live music that just goes together — and one of Rocky Mount’s annual traditions is bringing all three together this October.
The Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce’s 34th Annual Oyster Roast returns on Thursday, October 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Smith’s Pavilion of Dortches. Presented by Bunn-Brantley Enterprises, the evening brings friends, family, colleagues and members of the local business community together for a night of food, music and connection.
And with an Oyster Roast, you know the food is going to be part of the fun.
Guests can enjoy all-you-can-eat oysters, shrimp, catfish, chicken tenders and savory sides. So, even if oysters aren’t necessarily your thing, there will still be plenty waiting on the table.
Once you’ve grabbed a plate, the evening continues with live music giving guests a chance to enjoy the entertainment while catching up with familiar faces and meeting new ones.
That social atmosphere is a big part of what the Oyster Roast is all about. The Chamber promotes the event as an opportunity for attendees to bring their friends, family and colleagues and enjoy an evening that combines food and entertainment with networking. It’s a chance to trade the usual meetings and busy schedules for a fall evening spent connecting with people from across the Rocky Mount area.
Now in its 34th year, the Oyster Roast is one of the Chamber’s signature events. Gatherings like this provide another way for people within the local business community to build relationships and strengthen connections outside of the traditional work setting.
This year’s Oyster Roast will be held at Smith’s Pavilion of Dortches. So, if an October evening filled with oysters, live music and good company sounds like your kind of night, mark Thursday, October 15 on the calendar.
The 34th Annual Oyster Roast runs from 6 to 9 p.m., giving the Rocky Mount community another opportunity to come together, make connections and enjoy a little of what makes fall in the Twin Counties special.
