Tarboro Celebrates Hometown Homecoming

Tarboro’s Hometown Homecoming will bring great food and fun for everyone this Saturday, October 21. The Hometown Homecoming is an opportunity for former students of area schools to come back and be involved with their hometown community.

Jennifer Bridgers, Media Coordinator for Discover Edgecombe, says the event is great because “it helps you remember your roots and enjoy your home.”

The Hometown Homecoming will feature shopping with local vendors, entertainment with Impultz Entertainment, and food at the Town Common starting at 10 a.m. until 2 p.m..

Kids will have an opportunity to meet several great characters including the iconic Mickey Mouse from 10 to 11 a.m., the sensational Bluey from 11:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m., and the fearsome Darth Vader from 1 to 2 p.m.

The Tarboro Town Common will be filled with vendors and entertainment for Saturday’s Hometown Homecoming Celebration.

The Tar River Raised Car Show will be part of the Homecoming celebration with various prizes available. Check out cars, jeeps, trucks, and bikes along the Town Common from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The Tarboro Market will also be open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. this weekend. You can pick up local produce, baked goods, or craft goods at nearby Tarboro Brewing Company.

The fun picks back up with the Mix & Mingle at Courthouse Square at 5 p.m. with local musicians, DJs, and food trucks. Travis Moss, the Magnificents Band, DJ Bronco, and Impultz Entertainment will be providing live music. The excitement continues until 11 p.m.

The Hometown Homecoming is a great chance to enjoy Tarboro's charm. Bridgers says even if Tarboro isn’t your home that “it feels like home; it feels like you’ve been here your whole life.”
