The Dunn Center Kicks Off a Big 2023-2024 Season this Weekend

The Dunn Center at North Carolina Wesleyan University kicks off their 2023-2024 season this Friday, September 8, with a performance by 3 Redneck Tenors. The show will start at 7:30 p.m., and they will perform music from a variety of genres including gospel, country, pop, and more. Tickets are $25–35.



The season will feature four additional musical performances including:


Rockland Road features six vocalists who play a combined 23 instruments. They will be at The Dunn Center on Friday, October 13. Tickets are priced $20–30.

The Breakfast Club, a 1980s tribute band, will perform on Friday, November 10 at 7:30. Tickets are available for $20–30.


Tony Jackson is a talented country music singer who will perform on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 7:30. Ticket are $20–30.

Close to You: The Music of the Carpenters, written and performed by singer and playwright Lisa Rock, will be the final performance of the season, on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 7:30. Tickets for this show are $20–30.


In addition to showcasing musical talent, The Dunn Center also hosts several art exhibits throughout the year in their two art galleries: the Gravely and Mims Galleries.


The Graveley Gallery has a rotating selection of artwork by Janice Gravely. The Graveley Gallery will also host Color Outside the Lines by Ophelia Stanton August 16 through October 6. A reception for this gallery will take place next Thursday, September 14 from 5 until 7 p.m.


The Mims Gallery will display Boundless by Grace Bell August 10 through October 13.

The big highlight this year is that The Dunn Center will have Fantastic Little Paintings, a Bob Ross exhibit running November 2 through January 4. Tickets to this exhibit are $15. This will be the first time a Bob Ross exhibit has visited North Carolina, and it will be the largest Bob Ross exhibition ever seen under one roof globally, featuring over 75 paintings.

In 2024, the Mims Gallery will display Tamela Smith’s Abstract Journey of Expressionism starting January 11 through March 1. Threshold by Marion Weathers will be on display March 7 through April 25. The Staging Characters: Costumes by Court Watson exhibit will be available for May 2 through August 1.


The art exhibits are free except for the Fantastic Little Paintings exhibit. Most artwork will also be for sale.
