The Twin Counties Celebrate 🇺🇸Independence Day 🎆

The festivities to celebrate our nation’s independence begin this weekend and will continue through July 4. There are a number of festivals and activities to enjoy throughout our area. This week we’re highlighting several of the events that would provide great fun for the whole family along with fireworks displays.

  • Sunday, July 2 | Family Freedom Celebration | 5–10 p.m. | Ennis Park, 4605 N Old Carriage Rd., Red Oak | Music by The Legacy Motown Revue | Bubble & foam party provided by Bubbles Entertainment | Food trucks | Fireworks

  • Sunday, July 2 | Rise Church presents Freedom Celebration | 6 p.m. | 3520 Bishop Rd. Rocky Mount, NC 27804 | Free Admission | Fireworks | Food trucks | Inflatables | Worship message by Pastor Richard Gurganus

  • Monday, July 3 | Independence Day Celebration | 6–9 p.m. | Rocky Mount Sports Complex, 600 Independence Dr. | Live music | Inflatables | Rock wall | Trampoline | Basketball hoops | Video game truck | Face painting | Carriage rides | Food vendors | Fireworks begin around 9 p.m.

  • Monday, July 3 | Macclesfield Town Commons | 5 p.m. | 100 N Railroad St., Macclesfield | Food trucks | Fireworks Celebration

  • Tuesday, July 4 | July 4th Freedom Celebration | 6 p.m. | Englewood Baptist Church, 1350 S Winstead Ave., Rocky Mount | Live music | Entertainment for kids including bounce houses, pony rides, a train, and more | Food trucks | Fireworks at dusk


  • Tuesday, July 4 | Tarboro’s Annual July 4th Celebration | 6 p.m. | Braswell Park, 1501 Western Ave., Tarboro | The Ray Band | DJ from Impultz Entertainment | Food trucks & vendors | Rides and bouncers for kids | Fireworks by Zambelli Fireworks at approximately 9:15 p.m.
