This Saturday, March 25, the Nash County Farmers Market brings local musical talent Meredith Davis Johnson and Chandler James to the stage to kick off the farmers market season.
The music will begin at 6 p.m., but free barbecue will be available starting at 5 p.m. Koi Pond Brewing Company will also be on-site serving drinks.
Meredith and Chandler are among the area’s favorite local musicians.
They have shared the stage several times before, including at last year’s Blooming Festival in Nashville and last year’s “There is Snow Place like Red Oak” Christmas Festival.
Chandler James was recently named the first-ever North Carolina AgStar in a contest presented by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture.
James, who moved to Nashville, TN last year to pursue his dreams in music, has a few upcoming shows taking place in our area including a March 30 performance at the University of Mount Olive’s Ag Festival and his April 20 show at Westridge Grill.
Johnson plays in the area regularly at venues like Mythic Brewing, Westridge Grill, and many others. She will be taking a short hiatus as she welcomes her second child in the coming weeks. However, both artists will perform during this year’s Nashville Blooming Festival on May 13.
Johnson looks forward to sharing the stage with James. They plan to play about 30 songs, including some new songs they haven’t played together before. “It will be fun to see how we have each grown musically over the past few months,” Johnson said.
The Nash County Farmers Market will open on April 1 from 8 a.m. through 1 p.m. They will have live music performed by the Monitors Jazz Band, and the Brown Bag Bagel Food Truck will be there. They will regularly have musical guests and food trucks as part of their Spring Music Series sponsored by the North Carolina Arts Council.
The Nash County Farmers Market has a lot of great offerings, so be sure to check it out in the coming weeks and months. Johnson is passionate about supporting our community and all that it offers. She is excited to play at the farmers market, as it supports local families and businesses.
