Mills Tower Lighting to Kick off Holiday Celebrations
The holiday season is a great time to engage in the community. The Twin Counties have a number of significant events this week to start the celebrations.
You can begin this holiday season at the 5th Annual Tower Lighting at the Rocky Mount Mills on Wednesday, November 30 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The event is free, and there will be something for all ages, including:
Horse carriage rides through the RM Mills
Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus in Main Lobby A
Children’s crafts hosted by Dynamik Learning
Live music
And more
Matty Begs will perform in the Beer Garden before and after the lighting. The lighting of the Tower will be accompanied with music performed by Sicily, a 16 year old musician also known for her Cystic fibrosis advocacy and Matty Russo, lead vocalist and guitarist of Matty Begs, around 7:00 p.m. when the Tower Lighting will take place.
The event will also feature special guest WRAL Anchor/Reporter Michelle Mackonochie as they air the lighting live on WRAL and WRAL.com. The Mills Tower Lighting is part of WRAL’s lighting celebration that also includes the lighting of the American Tobacco Campus in Durham and WRAL’s Western Boulevard Studios in Raleigh.
Ripe Revival, a local organization that provides quality local food for communities in need, will also be there with their mobile market.
The Tower Lighting will take place rain or shine. With something for everyone, it is sure to be a great way to begin your holiday festivities.
