The Creative Pulse of the Twin Counties

This June, TC Media is excited to release the latest edition of the Tar River Art + Culture Magazine (TRA+C) — a publication dedicated to highlighting the creativity, businesses, music, food, and people continuing to shape the culture of Nash and Edgecombe counties.

The Spring 2026 edition of TRA+C Magazine will feature a wide range of stories centered around the growing creative and cultural momentum happening throughout the Twin Counties. From new restaurants and local music offerings to conversations with artists, entrepreneurs, and small business owners, the upcoming issue aims to showcase the people and places helping define the identity of the region.

One featured piece will explore the life and legacy of Thelonious Monk and his connection to Rocky Mount. Written by a new guest contributor, the story will examine Monk’s influence not only on jazz music as a whole, but also on the cultural history of the city itself.

The upcoming issue will also highlight several new eateries opening in Rocky Mount, including Parcelli's Bakery and the reopening of the iconic Chuck Wagon, continuing conversations around the city’s growing food and hospitality scene as more businesses and entrepreneurs continue investing in the area.
