The Twin Counties have a number of exciting events worth checking out and attending this summer. Many events are part of a recurring program like Tarboro’s Downtown Live, which began yesterday, and Rocky Mount’s Downtown Live!, which began on May 11.
The first big event is Happening on the Common in Tarboro tomorrow, Saturday, May 20 starting at 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. This event will feature live music from a variety of artists including John Saylor, The Powell Boyz, Electric Image Band, Carolina Lightnin’, Mariachi Los Viajeros, and Rhythm Express Band.
There will be performances by Members of the Tarboro Choral Society and the Dance and Tumble Company, as well as arts, crafts, and other activities to enjoy.
The Downtown Live! Summer Music Series in Tarboro is every 3rd Thursday, June through September. You can check out great music artists at Courthouse Square in downtown Tarboro from 6-9 p.m.

Rocky Mount also has a Downtown Live! Series at the Imperial Centre, every other Thursday at 6 p.m.

Rocky Mount also hosts First Friday downtown on the first Friday of each month. Around 20 downtown businesses participated in May, and the First Friday events in the coming months are sure to be worth checking out. Enjoy food, art, music, games, and more in downtown Rocky Mount.
The Imperial Centre will host Lawn Chair Theatre throughout the summer. The first film was Puss in Boots: The Last Wish on May 12. Activities begin at 6 p.m. and the movies begin at dusk. Bring your own lawn chair to the Imperial Centre lawn.
