A Full Season of Entertainment Ahead at The Dunn Center
There’s no need to travel far to enjoy live music, performances and the arts this season. The Dunn Center at North Carolina Wesleyan University is celebrating its 30th year, and its upcoming schedule brings everything from Fleetwood Mac and Elvis to the United States Marine Band and holiday jazz right here to Rocky Mount.
The season continues this Friday, September 18, with Tell Me Lies – A Celebration of Fleetwood Mac at 7:30 p.m. The returning tribute brings the sound and energy of Fleetwood Mac's music to Minges Auditorium, with tickets currently available through The Dunn Center.
On October 5, “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. as part of its 2026 concert tour. The performance is free to attend, but tickets are required and limited to four per request.
October continues with The Ultimate Elvis Tribute on October 15, returning to The Dunn Center for its third year. The show features Cote Deonath, Alex Mitchell and Austin Irby in a newly reimagined production celebrating different eras of Elvis Presley's career.
The season continues into November with America 250: A Celebration in Song on November 7. The Tar River Orchestra, Tar River Chorus and North Carolina Master Chorale will come together for a musical celebration of America's 250th anniversary.
As the holidays approach, the Tar River Swing Band will bring some seasonal spirit to the stage with Unwrap the Jazz on December 15, featuring a swing-inspired take on Christmas favorites. Then, the entertainment continues into the new year with MJ The Illusion – Reliving the King of Pop on January 8, 2027.
Beyond its performances, The Dunn Center is also home to the Mims and Gravely Galleries, which showcase work from local and nationally recognized artists throughout the year. Most gallery events are free to the public.
For 30 years, The Dunn Center has helped bring arts, entertainment and cultural experiences to the Twin Counties. Its 2026–27 season continues that tradition with plenty of reasons to make plans for a night out close to home.

Clair de Lune is celebrating its 7-year anniversary on September 17 and 18, and the boutique is inviting the community to join in the celebration.
Customers can stop by from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both Wednesday and Thursday to shop and help celebrate seven years in business.
Supporting local comes in many forms — whether it's buying a ticket to a performance, visiting a local gallery or stopping into a locally owned shop. This week gives the Twin Counties a few more opportunities to do just that.
